Wikihow Outline
The first step should be making sure you have a big work space for all the material needed to build this squat rack. Such as nails, a power drill, 6 large pieces of wood, a square-like platform that is big enough for you to stand on and squat comfortably (optional), a weight bar, plates and weight clamps, three metal rods, small metal hook poles and super glue.
Step two will outline how you begin to start building your squat rack and how to position the pieces of wood before you start to put the nail in place. A picture of how it should be positioned could be added if the text doesn’t help paint a clear vision of the set up. While setting this up, if you decide to use a base to stand on besides a floor you’ll have to nail the large wooden sticks into the platform on the ground and proceed to build it from the ground up.
Third step will inform you how to insert the holes into the large pieces of wood and where to put the nails to screw them into the wood and make the frame stable. Along with measuring the distance between each individual hole you make to make sure you can adjust the metal rods for your height. And put your smaller metal hook poles into the holes and nail them into place and add gorilla glue for extra support.
Fourth step will inform you on how to place the rods in the holes of the squat rack. The placement of two of the squat metal rods will ensure the safety for your own well being if the weight you try to squat is too much to handle you can drop it on them. These rods being placed are known as the safety bars when you can't lift past your PR weight. This makes it safer for you to lift and get the gains you need without having to go to the gym and being safe while doing it.
Fifth step add the last metal rod to the middle to the holes you set for yourself based on your height to where you can place the metal pole for your squats. Test it and lights shake it to see how stable it is. Rack the bar you’ll use for squatting like you would at an actual squat rack in an indoor gym. Also add the plates to both sides of the metal bar so see if the squat rack can sustain the weight.
Lastly enjoy the squat rack and do your workout you need to do to stay in shape and build muscle. This is a great idea when you want to stay home.
